Abstract

The school cafeteria at YBPK Junior High School in Kediri City is one of the poorly managed school canteens. Limited capital and a lack of competent canteen management resources mean that the canteen is not operated as a typical school canteen. The snacks and drinks sold are sourced from teachers' side businesses, and the snacks are served on school tables, which are then cleared away after the end of the school day. Based on these issues, a professionally managed canteen is needed. Independent canteen, also known as honest canteen, is a solution offered to address the limited capital and lack of human resources in the school's canteen. The mentoring program for the management of the independent canteen at YBPK Junior High School in Kediri City aims to optimize the management of the independent canteen. The creation of an optimally managed independent canteen is a key achievement of this community service program.
